Luckily, her father bought a country house and it just happens to be next door to the very broody, moody, and damaged Sebastian. She is a virgin heiress from "new money" which means it's not as easy to land a respectable gentleman as those from "old money", so she was kind of a wallflower in London. Maybe he thought this would qualify as the "food" part of their provisions.Īnyway, this book stars Abigail and Sebastian. Too bad he forgot a bottle of water or food of any kind, but priorities!!) (Remember Clary and Jace? It was a good thing he happened to bring a condom to the hell-zone. There was a magical cave and all I could do was root for her to lose her virginity in that cave, because that is another great place to lose it. The only thing that can really beat tree sex is cave sex, and this book had the potential. I heartily approved of this since tree sex is awesome. Overall I enjoyed reading Love and Other Scandal by Caroline Linden.Recently, I read a Historical Romance where the heroine loses her virginity in a tree. Though there was enough action to keep me interested and reading, I’m not really a fan of inner monologues and felt that there was a bit more of that with the writing than I would have liked though it didn’t completely affect my enjoyment. When Tristan and Joan finally came together they blazed the pages with how hot their passion was for each other! The issues that they faced being from different social standings, Tristan being this untrustworthy rake and Joan being the sister of Tristan’s best friend, made the story very juicy. I enjoyed how they fell for each other, everything that made Joan different was what drew Tristan to her and in getting to know him Joan saw that Tristan was more than a callous rake. I really liked how even though they came from two different social standings with Tristan being the popular sought after rake and Joan being a spinster, they came to connect with their brazen out spoken personalities and showed that they were ultimately on the same level. J oan and Tristan’s relationship was a battle of wills, enemies to lovers romance filled with snark, wit and blazing chemistry that I ended up enjoying in Love and Other Scandals by Caroline Linden.
